Early 20th Century Sparta Rug

A wonderful massive early 20th century Turkish Sparta rug a traditional Serapi pattern containing a large central oblong floral medallion woven in muted crimson, light and dark indigo, green, and gold, all on a muted crimson field of myriad flowers and scrolling vines. The border is outstanding with a wide central floral and scrolling vine patterned stripe flanked by pairs of matching petite floral patterned stripes.
