A wonderfully whimsical mid-20th Century central Asian pictorial Khotan rug with a bucolic scene depicting several roosters, hens, and chicks in the foreground feeding amongst the reeds at the edge of a river, with two farmhouses in the background nestled in a landscape of wonderfully rendered trees including a vibrant flaming orange majestic oak. A large stone bridge in the background spans the river while a boat with four passengers glides past the observers standing at the top of the bridge.
