Rare and Unusual Serab Runner, Circa 1900

A rare and unusual early 1900s Persian Serab runner with three large-scale and boldly rendered diamond form medallions woven in crimson, gold, and indigo on a natural undyed camel hair background. The border is quite unique, almost cartoon-like, with tightly woven multicolored geometric forms tightly packed into a thin inner border. The outer border is wide with stylized floral and vine patterns on a white background.
