An outstanding late 19th century Persian Serapi rug with the most beautiful central medallion with a stylized floral and leaf pattern woven in wonderful and brilliant crimsons, light indigos, white, and gold, set against a dark indigo background, and nestled among more stylized flowers, leaves, and vines. The border is exceptional with a large floral and vine patterned inner stripe flanked by a pair of petite floral patterned stripes, and a wide solid camel wool border with stylized people and goats repeated around.
