This early 20th-century Persian Lilihan rug features a beautifully mirrored floral design, where sweeping leafy branches and blooming clusters unfurl across the field in a rhythmic, symmetrical pattern. Woven in a rich palette of indigo, coral, crimson, pink, and brown, the rug radiates warmth and movement. A simple yet elegant border frames the composition, anchored by a central scrolling vine and floral stripe, flanked on either side by petite floral guard borders. Lilihan rugs are woven by Armenian weavers in the village of Lilihan, located in western Iran’s Arak region. Known for their soft wool, tight weave, and bold use of color, Lilihan rugs became especially popular in the early 20th century for their ability to bridge traditional Persian motifs with a slightly more playful, decorative style. This piece is a glowing example—full of charm, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal, equally suited to formal interiors or layered, collected spaces.
