An incredible 19th century silk Persian Ghashghaei prayer rug with a special pattern including an incense burner hanging above a crown, flanked by beautifully styled cypress trees, all on a rich crimson background. The border is absolutely incredible with a contorted flowering vine circling the rug, flanked by contrasting petite floral and vine bands. Because this rug is woven in silk, the precision in rendering of the flowers and trees is incredible!
