A brilliant mid-20th century Chinese hand-knotted wool rug with a central floral medallion with lotus flowers, bamboo leaves, and flowering prunus blossoms, surrounded by more stylized flowers, and living on a solid gray field with flowers in each corner. The border is woven with a repeated pattern of lotus and alternating bamboo motifs, and all woven in myriad colors including gold, brown, light and dark indigo, white, and pinks.
