This mid-20th century Persian Heriz runner features a dynamic series of stylized floral medallions running its length, each set within a richly patterned field of scrolling vines, leafy tendrils, and geometric blossoms. Woven in a lively palette of crimson, indigo, pink, white, and earthy brown wool, the rug is framed by a petite floral border that adds rhythm and refinement to the overall composition. Heriz rugs are handwoven in northwest Iran, near the base of Mount Sabalan, in and around the town of Heris. Known for their bold designs, strong geometry, and exceptional durability, these rugs are made by Azerbaijani weavers using high-quality wool with a distinctive, slightly coarse texture. Long favored for their strength and timeless appeal, Heriz rugs bridge the line between traditional Persian craftsmanship and the graphic sensibility of tribal design. This runner brings color, structure, and story to any hallway, stair landing, or narrow space.
