An outstanding late 19th century Persian Shirvan rug with three large medallions on an intensely woven field containing myriad stylized flowers, large and small, woven in crimson, gold, white, and indigo vegetable dyed wool, all on a dark indigo background. The borders are wonderful with a wide central stylized floral pattern flanked by two matching petite floral patterned stripes.
